Happy Anniversary Julianne & Brandon!

Another one of our wonderful couples, Julianne and Brandon, will be celebrating their first anniversary tomorrow! Their wedding was at the groom’s family property – complete with a beautiful wildflower field planted for the bride by her father-in-law. This, along with the bride’s family specializing in photography, florals and paper styling, made this wedding a very special family affair! Narrowing down the photographs, compliments of Mark Williams Studio and Erin Rene Photography, to share was quite a challenge – you’ll understand as you scroll down….enjoy!

a treat for your groom on the big day

Looking for a special treat to send to your groom and his guys while they are shining their shoes and getting in their tuxes? We found this Beer “Cake” and guy-themed cake pops and had to share! If you’d rather not promote alcohol consumption before he meets you at the end of the aisle there’s always a Soda and Candy “Cake” option.

the number in your party

While the average number of bridesmaids the past year was 4 to 5, the number in your wedding party is strictly a personal preference. There are some couples who prefer to stand alone at the alter and others requesting their twenty closest friends by their sides. Either option, or any number in between, is perfectly fine and understandable. If one cousin is included the four others may need to be added to avoid hurt feelings, while some may decide not to get involved with hurt feelings and nix the wedding party all together. Having your favorite crew with you as you prepare for the big event makes the prepping even more enjoyable, but keep in mind you can always invite your favorite girls for champagne while you are primping for your walk down the aisle even if they won’t be joining in the walk!

While we fully support each couple choosing the size of wedding party that suits them, we aren’t quite sure how you’d get this entire wedding party, including 80 bridesmaids, yes you read correctly, 80, down the aisle! Be sure to check out this story from London!

Since pictures make everything better, here are a few of our brides with their selected maids – Enjoy!

A big thanks to DVB Photographers, Mark Williams Studio, and Denise Gonsales for these beautiful images!

Brynsley Turns One!

We hope everyone enjoyed the weekend!

We have an adorable first birthday party to share. Brynsley, the precious little girl whose baptism we shared a few months ago, turns one this week and we were lucky enough to be involved with the big party! It was a perfect Georgia end of summer party – at the pool. We are sure you’ll enjoy this cute shabby chic event as much as we did!

dance the night away

The first dance is always moving to watch and a lot of times causes a tear or two to form. As much as we love the perfect slow song and a sweet first dance, having a couple surprise the crowd with a choreographed dance just makes the night! Sure, it may be intimidating to do, but if dancing is what you and your spouse-to-be love to do – go for it! We found a great article from Raquel Kelly with tips to pull off your own choreographed dance. Be sure to check out the video from her wedding – fun Friday entertainment!

Enjoy the weekend!

hanging on to summer....

Although the heat is still around, here in the south the summer is winding down. The kids are heading back to school, talk of football is all around us, and the only thing left on the hydrangea bushes are dried remains of this year’s beauties. Since we’re not quite ready to see this season come to an end, today we’ll hang on to it a little longer by sharing some of our favorite hydrangea arrangements that scream summer.

Stocking the Bar?

One big decision every couple faces during reception planning is alcohol or no alcohol. Unfortunately, it’s usually not an easy Yes or No question. Most venues or caterers will offer numerous different options – full open bar with different tiers of liquor brands; beer, wine, and a custom cocktail; beer and wine; beer or wine; or maybe just a champagne toast. The cost of a bar can add up quickly and if you are working with a strict budget it is definitely an area that can be tweaked to accommodate your wallet. While it may be tempting to have a cash bar, try to work with the venue/caterer to avoid this option – even if it’s just offering beer and/or wine for your guests. This article from The Huffington Post has great thoughts and more details on the topic, be sure to check it out!

Enjoy the weekend!
